Consumer Directed Services

Caring Corners, LLC Consumer Directed Services (CDS) program provides compensation to families and friends for taking care of their loved ones. The program provides personal care assistance services to Medicaid eligible consumers, allowing the individual to direct his or her own care.

In Home Services (IHS)
IHS Services Include:

Personal Care Assistance (PCA) – Help with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and other activities of daily living (ADLs).

Homemaker Services – Assistance with light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and other household tasks.

Respite Care – Temporary relief for primary caregivers, allowing them to rest while ensuring continuous care for the individual.

Medication Assistance – Helping with medication reminders or administration as allowed by regulations.

Companionship & Supervision – Providing social engagement and monitoring for safety.
Who Qualifies for IHS?
• Individuals who require assistance with daily living due to age, disability, or chronic illness.
• Those who qualify for Medicaid or other waiver programs covering in-home services.
• Individuals assessed by a state agency or managed care provider to determine their care needs.
Our In-Home Services (IHS) are supportive care services provided to individuals in their own homes to help them maintain independence and avoid institutional care. These services are typically covered by Medicaid and other funding sources for eligible individuals, such as seniors or people with disabilities.

Our Healthy Children and Youth Program
The HCY Program in Missouri provides a range of medically necessary in-home services to children and young adults under 21 who qualify through MO HealthNet (Medicaid). The duties performed under this program depend on the individual’s care needs but typically include the following:

Personal Care Assistance (PCA) Duties:
• Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
• Helping with mobility, transfers, and positioning
• Providing toileting and incontinence care
• Assisting with eating and meal preparation
• Monitoring and reminding for medications (but not administering).

Homemaker & Support Services:
• Light housekeeping (laundry, sweeping, dishwashing)
• Essential errands and shopping
• Transportation assistance to medical appointments

Who Performs These Duties?
• Personal Care Aides (PCAs) – Assist with daily living tasks
• Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) – Provide advanced care support
• Registered Nurses (RNs) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) – Perform skilled medical tasks for children with complex conditions
These services ensure that children with disabilities or medical conditions receive comprehensive care in their homes, promoting their independence and well-being.
